![]() Note that there are also ferries to West 39th Street and ferries to Pier 11 ( Wall Street). I enjoy the beautiful ferry ride across the Hudson River. It does save some time and for a party of two or more, it may actually be only a few dollars more expensive. This is Uber / NY Waterway Ferry / subway. This is no more and no less hassle than AirTrain Newark / NJ Transit / subway. Going to Newark Airport, I go to the ferry terminal at the World Financial Center and jump on the ferry to Paulus Hook (it is only about a 5 minute ferry ride) - then I get Uber to the airport.īefore Uber, I never considered this an option. No matter what the weather, I go upstairs and take some beautiful pictures of the skyline. During peak hours, the ferries are every 7 - 8 minutes and cost $6.00 to the World Financial Center ($4.00 on weekends - ferries are every 15 minutes on the weekends). ![]() I've started using Uber from Newark Airport to the Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal in Jersey City. Particularly evenings and weekends when there are gaps in the train schedule, I'd hate being stuck at the Newark Airport rail station for up to 25 minutes. I have always loved the train from Newark Airport to New York Penn Station but I would get annoyed when AirTrain Newark would crawl into the Rail Transfer Station and I'd see a NJ Transit train I would miss. This may not work for everybody but I've been doing this a fair amount recently and really liking it. ![]()
